Gaza 100 Sets World Relay Record

The organisers of the Gaza 100 relay are celebrating a new world record for the most runners in a 12 hour relay race. The original aims of the record attempt - for 4000 participants to take part in the biggest ever relay - were changed in favour of an attempt on the 12-hour record. With 1675 people running 100m between noon and midnight on Saturday 23rd May, a new official world record was set and, hopefully, hundreds of thousands of pounds raised for Save the Children's Gaza Appeal. The organisers - the IF charity and Save the Children - are taking no money for administration, so every penny raised will reach the people of Gaza.

The organisers of the Gaza 100 race hope to get 4000 people to run 100 metres each over 24 hours on May 23 & 24th at Mile End Stadium in east London. For more details, check out www.ifcharity.com.
