Zarah Hussain

Zarah Hussain researches radio and television documentaries for Gazelle Media and produces content for our muslimcafe.tv website.

She studied English and History at the University of Manchester before working at the BBC on its acclaimed Islam season in 2001. She has worked on many broadcast documentaries on religion, history and the arts, including two observational documentaries about the race riots in Bradford and a programme on the Tipton Three for BBC3, as well as stints on the Heaven and Earth Show and Everyman. Zarah also worked on The Covent for BBC2 and assistant produced Channel 4’s Europe Saves Islam with Tariq Ramadan for Crescent Films.

Zarah is also an artist. She studied at the prestigious Princes School of Traditional Islamic Art in 2004. Her current exhibition The Beauty of Abstraction is touring the UK. Zarah has recently been nominated for the Jameel Prize and won the Arts, Culture and Media prize at the Inaugural Mosaic Talent Awards for Excellence in November 2008.
