Salim Salam
Salim Salam is Head of Productions at Gazelle Media, an executive producer of documentaries and a senior media trainer and media consultant. He joined the BBC in 1993 after running his own production company, and as a broadcaster since 1990 he has covered many stories affecting Muslim communities in the UK and globally for BBC Television and Radio and commercial radio stations.
From 1993-2006, he was a producer in the BBC’s Documentaries department, working first on the acclaimed series Video Diaries before filming all over the world with explorer Benedict Allen (Skeleton Coast, Edge of Blue Heaven, Last of the Medicine Men), and the award winning observational series Airport. He is also a radio presenter, most recently with digital channel Colourful Radio and previously with BBC London. From 2001-4 he was Head of Training and Production then Managing Director of Youth Culture Television, an educational charity working with disaffected young people.
